Disruptive Innovation / System Presentation

Adding code through script editor to our Google Form would drastically change its efficiency.

We would need to us Script Editor to build custom functions to find overlaps in class times, game times, and on which dates

From these overlaps, script would automatically send email reminders to teachers when classes are going to be missed. This would also require creating custom functions to know when and who to send an email to and what information is to be contained in it.

To do this, we would have to break down the form more. Class times would have to be separate from each other. And we did this in the improved model.

This is our improved model

Originally we had a checkbox grid where the student just checked all of their class times. This doesn't work because we don't know what class if what time specifically or which professor teaches it. This also required adding a day dropdown and a professor email input for each separate class information section. While it does take up more space, it enables us to code and have the correct details readily available.

The student and coach would have to fill out before the professor, so that the code can find overlap in classes and games to report to professors. This way the professor has the information the moment they fill out the form, plus they can opt in to receive reminders.
